The Chairman

MUMBAI

Sir,

REG:              Regulated Working hours
REF:              Our letter dated 20.01.2009

While, we note with appreciation that IBA is inclined to address issue referred herein above, we hereby submit that pending scientific manpower exercise to be undertaken to arrive at a standardisation at all Banks on urgent basis the following points are to be considered for early implementation.

[a]        The working hours for Bank Officers should be 6.30 hrs on week days and 4 hours on Saturday with a lunch recess of 30 minutes to 45 minutes

[b]        Banking transaction hours are to be fixed in such a manner that the officers are not to stretch beyond the stipulated working hours.

[c]        Where the Banking transactions stretch beyond the normal working hours, alternatives are to be thought off to avoid over burdening of the officers.

[d]        Officers are not to be insisted upon to attend meetings after office hours and also on Public holidays and on Sundays.

[e]        Situation requiring the presence of officers on special occasions it should be by a written order, and they should be adequately compensated.

[f]         When the officers are to work beyond the working hours, as mentioned in Point [a], based on the marking in the muster role or “login” and “log out” cumulative excess man hours are also to be  compensated in the form of compensatory off.

In event of our demand of the “5 days working” being considered, appropriate enhancement of working hours not exceeding 7 and half hours  per day be considered.

We seek your effective intervention to bring about a new change in the advent of technology.

Yours faithfully,

/HARVINDER SINGH/

THIS LETTER CAN BE TREATED AS AN EYEWASH. MOST OF THE OFFICE BEARERS ARE HAND IN GLOVE WITH THE BANK'S TOP MANAGEMENT. I REQUEST THE OFFICER'S FRATERNITY NOT TO BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE. EVEN IF WE GET 5 DAYS IN A WEEK, THE MANAGEMENT WILL MAKE THE OFFICER TO WORK FOR THE REST OF THE 2 DAYS BY THREATENING IN THE NAME OF TRANSFERS TO LONG PLACES.

Is it possible

Surprisingly unions are asking for regulated working hours instead pressing for 5 days week straight. That means they r not themselves convinced for 5 days week. Shame on unions

Yet another way of distracting us from the main moto of wage revision.....

The moot question is How many of the office beares actually perform a days honest work?Enough of pretention & posturing.

Hopeless unions

As usual this is a strategy of our useless & worthless unions. We all know that apart from a respectable wage revision the most imp issue is 5 day week and fixed working hours. So to regain the confidence of the frustrated bankers they keep using these tactics at regular intervals. The last line of the letter says it all... Where it has been mentioned that "in the event of 5 day week being considered"..... This shows that even the unions have little hope of this demand being accepted and thus are begging for at least regulated working hours..... Its a pity for us....

It is totally shame on the union...this letter itself shows how serious our union are towards the interest of officers...we know that such kinds of comments by us wl put any affect on union..They are more serious towards their own interest only..Now time has that all officers should think to quit n bycot the union.

Unions/assns insist 5 days week and 25 wage hike and regulated working hours.otherwise go on indefinite strike and stop all govt schemes including pmjdy scheme

Anonymous said...

We,the bankers are zealous of comparing central/state govt employees work mature and salary structure and 5 days week

Why there is no talk about regulated working hours, union has forgotten it with ease or is a solution drawn.

Working hours has to be regulated it is need of the hour. We do need to spend some time with friends and family every day. .we want to see sun set. ..we officers are not machines even machine don't work like us.some one had to raise points to union
