UFBU AND AIBOC circular on talks dt 26.09.2014

Text of UFBU circular on Wage revision Talks on 26.09.2014:
Further to the last round of meeting held on 17th instant, another round of bipartite meeting was held with the IBA today (26.9.2014).
IBA was represented by Shri Rajeev Rishi (CMD Central Bank of India), Chairman of the Negotiating Committee along with other members of the Negotiating Committee. UFBU was represented by all its constituent unions.

In today's meeting there was a detailed discussion on our demand for 100% reimbursement of hospitalisation expenses incurred by the employees/officers and their family members and the group mediclaim scheme offered by the IBA in response thereto.
We explained our various apprehensions about the implementation of the scheme and hassle-free reimbursement of claims thereunder. We reiterated that employees/officers should not be required to deal directly with the insurance company or their Third Party Administrators.
IBA has agreed and accordingly clarified that even though employees would be covered by the mediclaim scheme, they would continue to submit their claims to the management as hitherto and the reimbursement would be made by the Banks with the improved benefits of the scheme accruing to the employees.
IBA also agreed to incorporate the suggestions submitted by the UFBU while finalising the scheme.  Hence a broad in-principle consensus was mutually agreed upon and the final scheme would be worked out accordingly on the above lines.

We also raised the following issues during the discussions today:

Ø    Pension related matters i.e. 100% DA on pension for pre-Nov. 2002 retirees, improvement in family pension, provision for periodical updation of pension
Ø    Introduction of 5 days banking / 5 days working
Ø    Regulated working hours for officers

After discussion, IBA informed that they are inclined to favorably consider the demand of 100% DA on pension for pre-Nov. 2002 retirees.
IBA further informed that cost aspect on improvement in family pension is being worked out and they would soon take a decision on the same.  IBA responded positively on this issue.
As regards updation of pension, IBA informed that in view of the high cost involved, it would be difficult to agree to the same.  On our insistence, IBA agreed that any viable and affordable proposition from the UFBU in this regard would be examined.

As regards 5 day banking / 5 day working, IBA regretted their inability to accept our demand in the present situation. From UFBU, we insisted on this issue and hence IBA agreed that if a detailed note is submitted to them with the requisite logic and rationale, they would apply their mind afresh on this issue.

On the issue of regulated working hours for officers, IBA was not inclined to agree to the same. However, on drawing their attention to the note submitted by the Officers Organisation, IBA agreed to study the same and react subsequently.

From the IBA, they wanted to know our views and reactions on introduction of cost to company method as well as fixed and variable pay concepts. From UFBU we have reiterated our standpoint that the same are not acceptable to us.  IBA also insisted for limiting the wage revision discussions upto scale III officers instead of upto scale VII which was also declined by us.

On the vital issue of improvement in the offer of IBA over 11%, despite our indication that we would be flexible in our demand, depending on improvements in other areas, IBA has conveyed that they are unable to improve their offer unless UFBU scale down further in its demand considering the financial constraints of the banks.
We categorically informed IBA that UFBU would be reasonable and flexible in its approach provided the same is reciprocated by the IBA on the issues raised by us and insisted on IBA to improve their offer to take the negotiations forward.
However, IBA was adamant in their stand and did not improve their offer and stuck to their earlier offer of 11%.  UFBU expressed its unhappiness over the rigid stand of IBA on improvement.

In the UFBU meeting held subsequently, representatives of all the constituent unions expressed their dissatisfaction and condemned the lackadaisical approach and adamant attitude of IBA and unanimously decided to undertake agitational programmes to press our demands and to expedite the settlement.  After deliberations, it was decided to observe One day Protest Strike preceded by the following action programmes:

10.10.2014
BLACK BADGE WEARING
17.10.2014
COUNTRY WIDE PROTEST DEMONSTRATIONS
Between 18.10.2014 and 31.10.2014
ONE DAY DHARNA AT ALL STATE CAPITALS
(Date shall be decided by the State Unit of UFBU)
COUNTRY WIDE ONE DAY PROTEST STRIKE

It was also decided that the one day protest strike shall be followed by intermittent and relay strikes as well as indefinite strike.  Detailed circular on the date of one day protest strike and other agitation programmes will be issued in due course.

AIBOC SAYS..................

Dear Comrades, we have received the reaction from many of you on the outcome of the
meeting with IBA. Our Confederation expressed its clear view in the UFBU meeting held on 26th
September, 2014, that we want quick and sustained agitational programme against the apathy
of IBA and the Government on our just and reasonable demands. We also suggested that our
strike call should be for 13th and/or 14th October preceded by programmes like no late sitting,
not coming on Sundays and Holidays, Badge wearing, relay hunger strikes, rallies and
demonstrations. Undersigned offered the challenge to hold a rally/demonstration on 27th
September, 2014 itself at Delhi. However, the above programme only could be decided by the
UFBU. We call upon our members to be in preparedness for any call of the UFBU/organization.
With revolutionary greetings,
Yours sincerely,
 (HARVINDER SINGH)
 GENERAL SECRETARY.

In today's age of technology we still have to be dependent on a one day later circular (which describes nothing about any firm outcome on any issue discussed)?? Why donot they video record the meetings and show us(Bankers) what's the discussion was about and what are the constraints from both UFBU and IBA side to reach the fair settlement.

That means... We are on the same place where we started 2....years back.........

To our beloved modiji.
Dear Sir,
This is an appeal from a common bank employee to the dream to reality converter magician.
As you will be aware that we are passing through deep agony, humiliation, pain and anxiety for last few years in the name of bipartite.
Even after dedicating full heart and soul for socio-economic development of our country through implementing the different govt schemes for financially backward people, we are the most periferial group in govt sector both financially and non financially.
All other companies do CSR as a part of their business, but the banks do business as a part of CSR. Still due to the utter zeal and jest of bankers, banks are always profit making and giving dividends to the govt.
All the previous govts had used the bankers for their own sake and not thinking about them. They do it through the third party called IBA(INDIAN BANKS ASSOCIATION).
Sir, as you have rightly found many govts inside the govt which hinders the overall development process, IBA is just perfect example of that.
Continuing in the same track.as we all know about a proverb, jis thali me khate hain usi me chhed karte hain.....the most appropriate example is our union UFBU.... The partner of IBA in the dirty game.
They are befooling the bankers for decades only due to their personal interest and existence. And it seems there is no end of this foul play.
On your very 1st independence day speech you scraped the YOJNA commission, the age old pending decision, request you to repeat the same for the sake of the country.
As it is known fact that if there is any third person acting as communicator between two family members, everlasting problems persists. Here the scenario is same.
In current context of corporate culture, major success of organisation depends on the emloyee's job satisfaction. Banks are not exceptions.
Banks were always the triumph card for govt,it is and it will be.
But in the journey.... they somehow left behind by the govt for struggle. Biased treatment to us make us felt to be like stepson. Bring us under pay commission and give relief to aam bankers from unionbazi.
I, in behalf of all demoralised bankers request you to give attention to the genuine problems faced by the bankers and help the bankers to build the nation more actively.
Your dream of account for all has been made a grand success. We just want a part of dream of us come true and and a break through is achieved in the history of india.
Regards,

Why after one month better to give lightning strike call during first week of October itself

Anonymous said...

Dear colleagues its time to go for opinion poll on social media where we have to give details like name and posting place and do for participating in 28 strike or not. U after we will send those data within 5 Oct to ufbu and replies that we are not going to support your actions of fight for pension revision.

Change two letters of ufbu, fb by ll, this is what you are ULLU, n this is how iba thinks about, shameless please leave, give charge to newcomers

Yadi karna hi hai to indefinate strike kariye aj kal to young generation ka aap par se bharosa uthta ja raha hai sabhi frustate ho gai. Ab bank se resign karne Ki soch rahe hai. Ab to tea party band kariye. Or Jo bhi karna hai fast and strict dessision leejiye........

All union is making fool of all poor bankers they deliberately delaying the negotiation to accumulate Levey . union don't want to settle it earlier bcz there would loss in their Levey collection..

Anonymous said...

For regulating working hours ubfu should write to labour commission rather than begging in front of iba as this is an issue related to human rights and nothing with wage revesions

Anonymous said...

We will not support strike because we have already sacrifice our salary for strike before but no result gained by any union. I suggest every banker to attend office and strike against UFBU not against IBA. Near about 125 bankers are there with me who are interested to form a new union.....

UFBU should feel doubt on the purpose of its own existence. Individual unions in UFBU should conduct protests separately and demonstrate their commitment. We will support all the genuine efforts. Sitting idle and blogging and scrapping talks won’t save any purpose ( of course it can be utilized for imparting information and ideas). Believe in trade unions culture and strengthen it. Don’t just see the benefits the Railway employees getting but also understand the trade union culture and energy in the mind of individual employees in that sector. Despite the color of flags support all genuine protest against IBA. Shut down your computers and come to the streets....do your part then earn your right to bullshit unions and collogues who sit idle and waiting for biscuits from management.... Yes the unions underperformed…..so do we. Now participate sincerely in protests..that will force even the impotent leadership to deliver. Support them…let them do their best..else we will collectively overthrow them to the back yards…. First light the fire in our own minds…that can put the underperforming trade unions to ashes….Any individual unions in UFBU feel they are not heard..come out we assemble behind you…. We are ready to rock the streets and the sucking management and CMDs who are playing to the tunes of business tycoons. Come on.. be active in the every means to protest..then earn your own right to question the trade union leaders…first strength their arsenals….give them a chance to perform. If UFBU leaders continue to underperform then BE PREPAIRED to step-down.

Seems a long date for strike was planned for the response from iba

From circular it is understuad that Bipart is for retired pensioner and not for bankers who are currently workings nd getting less salary. Leader who represent UFBU are in favour of Retired person. When they will understand the feelings of young generation. Whether they can? ??

Never

Never

Nd

Never

Now time come youth should weak up.

Otherwise we will definitely get "BABAJI KA TULLU" like last Bipart.

no respect for us bankers. in pay and working days and hours and it will result in more NPA to the bank. which will be a loss to the economy. contribute more NPA if they dont respect us bankers wth reapectable pay and 5 days working.

Ufbu ko chahiye ki abhise strike 1 day, 2 day and indf strike ka plan banakar strike notice iba ko serve kar dena chahiye,no biipt below 25% otherwise dmd for pay commn,

Anonymous said...

Even if we strike for one day , we have to come the next day and complete the previous day work also as there wil be heavy rush after holiday and only thing is we have to complete the work at any cost. Due to strike there is only loss of pay but no other use. Go for indefinite strike so that government wil know wat all works banks are dng and come down

Unknown said...

Let the UFBU negotiating committee should ask for wage increase for the current employees and not for the pre Nov.2002 retirees. Also other issues such as 5 days weeks, regulated working hours for officers shall be taken after the fixation of wage increase. I do not understand why the UFBU leaders are clubbing all the matters with the wage hike. In my opinion, we should first strike the deal of wage hike and then start with other issues as stated above. I feel that the unions are egging for huge levy from the employees and thus they are trying to prolong the wage settlement with the help of IBA.

Indefinite strike is the only way.

Ok. Its enough waiting. Spread the word.

Boycott UFBU. Boycott IBA. Cancel everyone your union subscription on a pre-fixed date. (October 8 may be)
Then start protesting by indefinite strike from a pre-fixed date (Oct 13 onwards may be)

Bankers save yourself! Spread the words. And take these strict actions. Nobody will help us, if we dont help ourselves.

Go for INDEFINITE STRIKE,it is the only way, bahad main gai UFBU.

Unknown said...

You are correct,,, platform is pmo official page available for all,,, all bankers should post that we are not participating in 28th strike called by bank unions,,, our basic demand is only 25% hike on pay slip component and rest demands will be discussed afterwards, however after 2 years of negotiations we have been offered 5, 9.5, 10 & 11 totally unjustifiable.,,, you pls interfere and confirm 17.5 plus as last time we got the same after 2.5 years of negotiations. Achhe din of bankers is in your hand else directly order bankers should get pay commission... Regards and thanks.

UFBU Pl thin and decide on indefinite strike. One day steije wont help. It will be like a sunday or a holiday. one day strike is like postponig the work for the next day, without any impact except a days salary cut for us.......

Anonymous said...

Why these people fix a date for strike after one month , that too on Tuesday .Is there any use.just loss of one day pay only.we should do indefinite strike immediately other wise no use.We should go independently

Anonymous said...

Guys can anyone tell me have u heard that Govt. Is already agreed for 7th pay commission for bankers but our great leaders of UFBU have not agreed for for the same, what might b the reason behind it. Levy, tea party, white collar posts e.t.c anyone having any information pls share.....

Pls give give reply which were asking by young bankers. Y ufbu not calling for indefinite strike.. pls explain clearly why one day strike that to b after 30days.. we younger banks redy to do indefinite strike. We not bother about salary. We want our rights and equality with central government. . Even now a days young clerks also working more than 10 hours.. so ufbu pls explain clearly wat your programs and results expecting wat ur

Anonymous said...

We did already strikes two times before.. nothing changes in iba.. now calling for only 1day... wat will happen.. we only get work burden on next day. Nothing on iba.. pls ufbu think and call indefintie strike

We should go for endless strike then only these corrupt guys will get to know about the value of bankers.

Don't they think how and how much we are contributing the society and in return we are not getting handsome salary.

To manage work loads we do work 4 hours (approx) extra daily. Sometimes we do work on Sundays also. If still they can see either they are blind to their common senses or they are just ignoring us on the thought that we are donkeys to do this stuff.

Even 25% hike is not as good if we give a look to other factors of the society where bankers are just living a awful life.

Guys this time if we need to go against UFBU then i think we all should ready for that. Don't compromise with your capabilities. If we are not getting proper salary for our services then we need to raise voice and if we cant do that then only shame on us. Dont blame others.

Lets unite and fight against injustice.

I really don't understand why people are talking about leaving PSU bank. Officer in PSU Bank is earning atleast 2 times then the Officer cadre employee in Private Bank. Employee cost in PSU Banks is much higher then the Private Banks whereas productivity is much lower. Just think over and be happy......

We need to perform indefinite strike until IBA accept demand of 25% . Why do we always accept what IBA says? I request our beloved Union to declare indefinite strike. We cannot wait for long time. IBA should recognise and feel our financial position. We know how we are surviving. Even we think twice to have a cup of tea of Rs.5/- at any hotel.

DON'T DO ONE DAY OR TWO DAY STRIKE. WE HAVE TO TAKE THE BURDEN ON THE NEXT WORKING DAY. LETS GO FOR INDEFINITE STRIKE UNTIL ALL OUR DEMANDS ARE ACCEPTED. IF OUR LEADERS ARE REFRAINING FROM INDEFINITE STRIKE EVEN IN THIS SITUATION, WE ARE FORCED TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE TAKING BRIBE TO WEAKEN EMPLOYEE'S STRENGTH. WE ARE NOT ANIMALS. OUR SALARY IS MUCH LESSER AND OUR RISK IS VERY HIGH. THE PRESSURE WE ARE BEARING AND WE HAVE NO TIME TO SPEND FOR OUR FAMILY.WE MUST GET MINIMUM PAYMENT TO FEED OUR FAMILY.
