Com.G.V. Manimaran,

Dear friends,
I have seen many reactions from our members and well wishers about my decision of keeping my self away from the AIBOC NEGOTIATING TEAM.
Believe me friends, I have not done so to project me a martyr or a rebel, but, it is the time to ventilate my feelings.

Canara bank officers' Association members who are regularly reading my letters must be knowing that I am constantly and continuously preaching following points for the last three years…….

Fortunately the offices were recruited in big number from 2009 and I have been mentioning in various letters that it is primarily the responsibility of IBA and the Govt. to recruit and retain the INDIAN YOUTHS in the banking industry for which an attractive remuneration to be paid otherwise the industry will come to a grinding halt.
But despite our best efforts, it was not appearing that the IBA and GOVT understood that it was their responsibility basically to recruit competent officers and be retained by paying attractive remuneration.
Today about 40 to 60 % of the officers are recruited after 2009 in various banks, balance about 25% will be retiring in another 3 years and will be filled either by the officers recruited from now on or by promoting from out of the employees recruited after 2009.
However, in the Industry, in another three years, 75% of the officers will be in the age group below 35 years and they are going to hold the position of Scale I, II and III with less exposure in banking………...
With the outsourcing of maintenance and computerisation the number of sub staff and PTEs will be reduced in banks and thus the strength of officers will be equal to employees in the banking sector.
When the number of officers are increasing, the role and responsibility of the officers Organisation also have to be improved.
Thus it is the primary responsibility of IBA and a catalytic role of officers organisations to create conducive, comfortable, comparable and secured Woking condition for the work force in the future banks so as to attract the intellectual Indian youths to be recruited and retained in the industry.

Let us be transparent and gain the courage to tell the cadres on the settlement and we need not hesitate to share the information with the members rather than increasing hype which is the primitive style……
I always believe that agitations and strikes are to attract the attention of the Masters towards the issues and not to damage the industry and institution.
Similarly, my resignation from the AIBOC negotiating team is to draw the attention of the leaders to the issues and expecting cadres and not to become MARTYR or to weaken the movement.
Thanks for the support.

Hi All,

Kindly let us know what really happened in the meeting. Is IBA trustworthy? Revisit the past experience with them. To satisfy whom this decision was taken (defer strike). Shame on u guys

May be you are right sir. Yet we do not trust anyone including you. This may be another game plan of UFBU

Good decision indeed. As he says the GOI and IBA should change their views and to take a realistic approach for the betterment of Bank's financial strength.

As you said, banks are and will be full of young bankers, I want to know how many young bankers are there in negotiating committee.

If you are feeling so much for the young bankers, then why they were asked to submit the suggestions prior to the talks. It is just a case of collecting more levy.

Negotiating committee comprises of old age banker or even I guess retired bankers who are interested only in monetary benefits rather than improving the working conditions.

Believe me, if this will be the attitude, none of the young bankers will be a member of any association.

thanks sir.....today we need a leaders like you.....who take care of the youth and the banking industry...not the leaders who are thinking of themselves only..

Now you are very late. You have to take this action earlier.

Ok you left union, you left corrupted union leaders' brigrade. Thanks. But, your duty has not completed yet. You should reveal the true story to all Aam Admi Bankers. What is heppening between IBA & UFBU? Because you and other so called leaders are enjoying life using our union subcription money, unions are collecting crore of money from general bankers monthly and enjoying their lives. Why you leaders have no common sense, huminity to fellow bankers? Why you leaders are making money on the name of wage revision by making aam bankers fool. If you are honest then reply me.

I request all the members to resign from the union.

Is this the first time IBA is promising something and then not fulfilling its promise? Why we should believe IBA always on brink of strike days? After all this, we should not rest unless all demands are met including five days banking, regulated working hours etc. There is news that 5 days banking proposal is turned down by GOI. If so, then why withhold strike plan?

Be ready it is right time to form young bankers association, in a big way so that we will going to kick out these old unions and there leaders

WE ALL WERE AWARE OF THIS, WE ARE FOOL TO JOIN BANK WORK HRS ARE LIMIT LESS SALARY ????????????????? UNION DON'T NEED OUR VIEWS, THEY NEED US ONLY FOR MONEY, LOOK FORWARD FOR FEB 2015 N WAIT FOR MORE DATES .IF OUR LEADERS ARE NOT SERIOUS WHY SHOULD IBA CARE??????? YOUNG BANKERS NO ONE CARES ABOUT OUR VIEWS AND SUGGESTIONS?

All bankers are talking and concentrating about %.. 12.5 or something above.
Hold on young bankers, it is only going to benifit the senior and old cadre and not to the juniors as such. For young officers insist on the minimum of the new scale to the Scale -I officer. Higher that scale overall benifits will be and much in future pay fixation.
So let us struggle for as highest as atlest proposed Gr A Govt scales for the starting scale -I.

Why so late in taking the decision. Why not earlier. What might have been happened for taking such decision in a short time.

The higher the start of the first officers scale SCALE-I, acceptance of the Banker as respectable profession will be more, so all young bankers who ever may be in any of Scale-I, II or III, strive for highest start of the Scale-I. Start discussion on this topic also, otherwise your Unions and IBA will befool by starting at lesser scale to offset the higher %. Since more and more number of officers are in the lower scales, they will be put to disadvantage forever.
Forget about 2-3% higher fixation, if you success in getting higher start of scale, any thing negotiated lesser % may not effect too much.
It is this lesser settled scale-I in sucession is the real culprit in Bankers getting less scale as of now. Bankers are going for 10 Revision, while Govt with 6th revision are getting much higher. On the other hand, with more settlements, Bankers ought to have been at higher level.

Sir we are very ashamed to work in banks with this labour wages and labour work. Our own people our unions which we share every thing have cheated us. 2 long years passed and drama is continuing and poor bankers remain poor. Friends pls pls leave the bank job and join another better job if u have age and qualification

Our tireless leaders r selflessly trying for the past 26 months to achieve the record of 100 sittings with iba,5 day working(aka 7 day week)
Call for Feb strike so that salary cut will be more and any accumulated work will be cleared by the hapless aambanker

Some posers:other than providing clerical and secretarial assistance what is th
e role of HR deptt of IBA in
our negotiations?
What is the pay scale of officers of IBA ?how they r selected n productivity measured?

the question is..... if workers unions are satisfied with their 12.50% share, let them go yaaar
officers community should get min. double %age hike from it... that should be the realistic approach
ufbu should be only for other banking related issues... not for salary negotiations....
officers should get more %age hike than award staff... why these officers leaders still begging with retired workmen leaders again and again ?

Young bankers should resign embassy from unions

Golden opportunity is lost. IBA is well known for employing arm twisting game and it is not the first instance where IBA has assured to conclude the wage settlement in a time bound manner. Henceforth strike call if any given by the unions will not receive even 1% response.
