Note: Next UFBU meeting on 19.02.2014 for discussing about the future course of action.
UFBU's circular No. UFBU/2014/19, dated
11.02.2014, issued on Two days's Strike!
..................We once again reiterate that the intention of the UFBU is neither to cause
inconvenience to the customers nor loss to the country’s economy. The strike could
have been avoided, but for the recalcitrant attitude of the IBA and Government
combine in not coming forward with an improved offer paving the way for a
respectable and reasonable wage revision. We do appreciate the stress on the
balance sheet and the constraints on the IBA but at the same time, what is being
demanded is not unreasonable and difficult to consider. The responsibility and the
duty of the employees and officers towards ensuring growth in business,
productivity and generating increased gross income has been fully discharged. The
fact is fully evidenced by double the growth in net profits of Banks despite
appropriation of more than 60% of the income generated towards writing off and
provision for NPAs.
More so, the UFBU is not demanding the entire profit to be distributed
amongst employees as wages but with the due share in order to ensure reasonable
standard of living to Bank employees equivalent to the comparables and also to
cope up with the uncontrolled spiraling cost of inflation, which is making the life of
common man miserable.
The efforts made by the UFBU in the conciliation meeting held by Chief
Labour Commissioner (Central) in New Delhi on 6th February 2014 have not evoked
any positive response, which resulted in Two Days’ strike as inevitable.
The two days’ strike is only a warming up exercise which should send strong
signals to Government / IBA that the Bank employees will not be silent spectators if
the Government is adamant in its attitude in implementing the reforms and the IBA
/ Government combine ignore the just reasonable aspirations of the Bank
employees.
UFBU is aware of the aspirations and expectations of the employees. All
efforts would be made to achieve the improvements with a balanced approach. In
the meantime, we urge all our members not to give scope for rumours and its
circulation that are aimed to vitiate the atmosphere. At this crucial juncture, we
should not give any scope to the vested interests to develop vedge in the unity of
Bank employees.
We whole-heartedly thank the UFRRBU and also the employees / unions in
the Co-operative Bank Sector for not only extending support but also observing the
two days’ strike in their respective Banks. We sincerely thank the United Forum of
Reserve Bank Officers and Employees, AIIEA and all the other trade unions for
extending their fraternal support to our cause.
The UFBU will meet shortly to chalk out future course of action and further
programmes.
Comrades – March ahead – continue to display the solidarity and strength –
Be ready to implement with vigour any action programmes decided by UFBU. Let us
march ahead with determination to achieve the goal.”
With revolutionary greetings,

HE UFBU LEADERS STATED THAT, once again reiterate that the intention of the UFBU is neither to cause
inconvenience to the customers nor loss to the country’s economy.ONLY THERE CLEAR INTENTION IS TO BARGAINING LOSS TO THE BANK EMPLOYEES /OFFICERS,EVEN THOUGH AFTER 1 YEAR 3 MONTHS FROM THE DUE THE DID NOT BOTHER ABOUT THTHE LOSS 2 THE BANKMEN THOSE WHO ELECTED THEM, IT IS THE PITY OF BANK MEN.
HOW CAN WE EXPECT BETTER SETTLEMENT FROM THESE SO CALLED LEADERS
HOW CAN WE EXPECT EARLY SETTLEMENT FROM THESE SO CALLED.............
HOW CAN WE EXPECT WITHOUT DELAYING TACTICS WITH PROPER APPROACH FROM THESE......
HOW CAN WE EXPECT CLEAR RESPONSE TO FM FROM SO CALLED......
LOST AND LEAST, POOR BANKMEN , PLZ DONT EXPECT THE EARLY SETTLEMENT BEFORE ELECTION
Sirji.. Wait karate karate to a hi election declare ho jayenge...
Sir union leave Karen main hi bhalayi hai …in union waalon se hona kuch hai nahi sirf subscription kaatne se mat lab hai
Ist. of all chidambaram and his family members to bring back the looted money from PSBs via banks logo changing, indian bank scam, etc.etc. which will bring back npa position safe to some extent. UFBU should call for March 30 & 31st for strike, let the tax collection be affected. we dont bother... about whether govt. is there or not. let them run the show with their govt. employees who are earning much better than us. and we should give call for boycott election duties, which is not our concern..... pl comment
Jo karna jaldi karo 31-3-2014.tak
This is just the delaying tactics of a fixed match between UFBU & IBA.
UFBU circulars are just a eye wash and they are playing their game well just to inform the cadres that they are sincere.
No effort to publicize the just demands of bank employees.
I remember attending a union gathering where one of the Top UFBU leader just spent Rs.5000/- in the Spa of a five star Hotel.
Well friends Mr. Periyaswami is a believer in Present Set of UNION Leaders.
Let us all pray that our hard earned subscription money & levy does not go waste.
Let us all pray that Mr.Periyaswami also campaigns for secret ballot in selection of Unions leaders, the union leaders come out of their communist ideology.
I can't understand the statement given by FM...i think now the time has come and there should be indefinite strike before the election.
i want this IBA to get dissolve completely who is behaving like a broker of this cheap government. Please bring IBA, RBI and Mr. Chidu in 6 day's working environment and bring them under bipartite wage system instead of pay commission. And there should be some provision of deciding accountability on part of finance minister and RBI people when an account goes bad or NPA happens because why always bank is accountable for that. Some amount should deduct from their pockets also ultimately they prepare these policies.
First of all dissolve IBA completely
who is behaving like bloody brokers of this cheap government. Second bring Mr. Chidu, IBA and RBI in bipartite wage system instead of pay commission and 6 days working environment and as all the policies are prepared by RBI and GOI we should decide their accountability also and deduct amount from their pockets also when some loan become NPA or some Account goes bad.
IBA ko dissolve karo kyunki woh government ke broker hain. Mr. Chiddu ko RBI ko aur IBA ko humare wage system me laao aur inse 6 nahin 7 dino kaam karwao. Aur jab koi account NPA hota hai FM aur RBI ki salary cut karo yahi banate hain sari policies inki bhi toh kuch accountability honi chahiye.
Every young officer should give protest unitedly and gather at main point of their city after 7:00PM evening everyday so that public will also know the truth. Let this initiative will taken by our responsible and so called dedicated leaders. If not respectable wage increase then there should be 5 day working
First FM take responsibility for NPA arter he can demand in profit. ..
Bank employees should wholeheartedly support anti corruption movement of Arvind Kejriwal.Only when All crooked promoters, corporates defrauding the banks are sent to jail along with the corrupt chairmen and politicians behind these huge NPAs,wages of bankers will rise.Bankers must stop paying anything to the crooks of Unions/Associations.
