FOR THE NOTICE OF ALL OUR COMRADES Date: 05-02-2011
Dear Comrade,
SUB: Denial of Pension benefits to those who have resigned under various Voluntary Retirement Schemes of the Banks
Smt S K Vidya, Scale III Manager of State bank of Mysore(SBM) was a PF Optee. She tendered her resignation to the post under the Exit Option Scheme of the Bank. In the aftermath of Pension Settlement dt.27-04-2010 entered into between IBA and UFBU Unions, she had contacted SBM Management and requested to provide Pension option under the Scheme. But the SBM Management maintained that she is not eligible.
Subsequently she approached Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal forum, Bangalore 560 020 with a complaint on 18-10-2010(Complaint No. 2382/2010) making Managing Director of SBM and Chairman IBA as opposite(respondent) parties.
The District Consumer Forum in its order dt. 10-12-2010 upheld her contention and ordered that she is entitled to get Pension benefit under the agreement/settlement dt.27-04-2010. The Forum also directed the Management of State Bank of Mysore(SBM) to disburse monthly Pension as also directed to pay Rs.2000/- as costs of litigation to the complainant. SBM was directed to submit compliance report within 75 days from the date of the order.
We understand that the Management of SBM did not heed to the consumer Forum’s order till date. We are keenly observing the developments in this regard. In the meanwhile we are enclosing the extant order of the Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum Bangalore for the information of one and all.
Yours fraternally,
(G. Radhakrishna)
General Secretary
