UFBU CIRCULAR No. UFBU/2014/35 dt. 12-11-2014

STRONG SIGNAL TO THE ADAMANT IBA
ALL INDIA BANK STRIKE – A GRAND SUCCESS

We are glad to inform the members that the call of UFBU for One Day Protest Strike today, i.e., 12th November 2014, demanding immediate wage revision, is a grand success true to the saying that "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself".

"The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team." We sincerely place on record our highest appreciation and congratulations to the entire membership for the total success of the One Day All India Protest Strike, demanding immediate wage revision.

Reports are pouring in from different parts of the country that the banking transactions came to a grinding halt throughout and the Strike is a grand success. We heartily congratulate all the members for their wholehearted participation in the rallies/demonstrations conducted all over the Country displaying the anguish of bank employees over the recalcitrant attitude and callous approach of IBA resulting in undue delay in settlement on wage revision.

The success of the strike is a clear warning signal to the adamant IBA to change its rigid approach and come forward to settle a reasonable wage revision.

UFBU is for a negotiating settlement. The just demands of the bank workmen and officers are not given any cognizance by IBA-Government combine and the UFBU is compelled towards the agitation path as IBA has been so rigid in sticking to its meager offer of 11% increase in pay slip components, despite UFBU’s inclination to slide to 23% from its earlier demand of 25% in order to pave the way for an amicable settlement.

The demands of the bank workmen and officers are reasonable. The reasons attributed by IBA that banks cannot afford a better wage revision to their employees quoting the reducing net profits are not acceptable inasmuch as the Public Sector Banks have registered growth continuously with the operating profits increasing year after year. The UFBU is demanding just adequate wages and nothing extra-ordinary or beyond the capability of banks.

The sincere efforts made by the UFBU to pave the way for an amicable settlement, in the bipartite meeting held by IBA on 10th instant were futile and the subsequent Conciliation Meeting held by the Chief Labour Commissioner ended inconclusively resulting in the inevitable One Day Strike today.

Let us continue to show the strength of our Unity in ensuring success in all the remaining action programmes decided by UFBU. Comrades – Move ahead with the same strength and more vigor and ensure great success to the Relay Zonal Strikes starting from 2nd to 5th December 2014 and all the future programmes, as decided by UFBU.

We heartily thank the trade union fraternity in the banking industry and its entire membership for their wholehearted support. We sincerely thank the United Forum of Reserve Bank Officers and Employees, All India Insurance Employees Association and all the other trade unions for extending their fraternal support to our justifiable cause.

March on - March on – Struggle Ahead – March on
Let us stop not till our goal is achieved.

One day strike on the 12.11.2014 was the total failure and shameful day for banking fraternity. Till now finance ministry not issued a single comments on quantam of loss met with this strike and totaly subdued our paid efforts as none news channel even projected it as serious issue. We people are suffering from these unions whose ideology are different and does not have common consensus among themselves. UFBU is as like coalliation govovernment and can not function well in loose leadership. There are many union even not participated in strike. In view of this government is not giving any heed to disgruntled and ill witted banking fraternity union leader. These leader came down from 35% increase in pay slip component to mere 23% but IBA is very adamant because they have to settle our BPS from saving made through strike, interest earned for 30 months, saving made from pensioners, saving made from DA merging on which consensus already been achieved. This show is repeated after every five year and we people contribute our salary for this foolish leaders. This match is fixed and we need freedom from unions and pay commision is far better option as we will get equivalent pay with no salary cut.

The Union and Association leaders are taking the members for a ride. What is the use of a delayed settlement. After waiting for more than 2 years and getting 1 or 2 % more than what has been offered is useless. We must think of the number of days we have gone on strike. Had we accepted the offer of 11% initially then it would have been more profitable than the 12 or 13 % that we are likely to get. The inflation, the benefit of cascading effect on our PF contributions we have already lost. All this is because of the Leaders' selfishness. Atleast now they must work for the benefit of the members instead of their selfish gains.

no my dear friends it is really grate success because we r still foolishly following our grate leaders even tho
they r ready to give a big bowl with all holes for begging. this is only option we have -beg.

The union netas are all sold out agents. Already the settlements which used to happen every four years are now happening at five years' rests. Further there is a delay of more than two years everytime for a settlement to be effective. The employees lose out on a lot of money because many allowances are effective prospectively. There is not a buzz anywhere about the recently held one day strike. The command of the movement should be taken over by young, energetic and more focused bank employees. The bankers have been burdened with all sorts of work which the govts. Of the day deem fit. Whereas when it comes to wage revision the bodies like IBA act like stranglers

Success - meaning has changed

Mr. Indian Bank Kumar how would you define 'grand success'?? Has the govt increased its offer? Has the IBA called for another meeting. ......No ..... Nothing. We the employees have lost a days wage while a govt has saved itself from paying a days salary to us.Mr. Indian bank kumar stop portraying the union leaders as gods. They are a bunch of illiterate, old bags whose palms have been greased by the govt.
Could you please explain the rationale behind a one day strike.?? What useful and logical purpose could it possibly serve..????..... Absolutely nothing .. The govt has not even blinked in response to the strike.
I have been an officer with a nationalised bank for over 2.5 years. Now I am resigning. I will be doing so with a smile on my face. Inspite of being part of a very stressful sector, our beloved union leaders have constantly misguided us on wage negotiations.... The govt does not give a rats ass.... So Mr. Indian Bank kumar continue believing in your beloved union leaders, those of us who have seen the light are fleeing this dying and worthless sector.

LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION!!!!!;
LONG LIVE OUR BELOVED UNION LEADERS!!!
LONG LIVE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS MURALI!!!!
and finally ........... LONG LIVE INDIAN BANK KUMAR !!!! may your undying love for your beloved union leaders survive the ages
