UNITED
FORUM OF BANK UNIONS
CIRCULAR No. UFBU/2016/53 Date :

AGITATION IN ASSOCIATE BANKS OF STATE BANK OF INDIA
Members are aware that agitation has been declared by
All India Bank Employees’ Association in the Associate Banks of State Bank of
India, opposing the attempts of the respective Bank Managements to alter and
amend the service conditions of the employees overlooking the provisions
relating to service conditions as agreed under industry level Bipartite
Settlements between the workmen unions and the Indian Banks’ Association.
The callous attitude of the
managements of Associate Banks resulted in a call for two days strike in
Associate Banks on 1st and 2nd December 2015
and a day’s All India Strike on 2nd December 2015 by the
All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA), a Constituent Union of
UFBU. However, the strike was deferred subsequent to conciliation meeting
on 23rd November 2015, wherein the managements agreed to defer
the implementation of the Career Progression Scheme and hold bilateral
discussions with the Unions.
The bilateral meeting that was subsequently held with
the Union also was futile inasmuch as the managements continued with their
adamant stand on the issues. Hence, the All India Bank Employees’ Association
(AIBEA) has decided to revive the agitation and gave a call for All India
Strike on 8th January 2016.
As informed earlier, it has been decided by the United
Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) to extend fraternal support to the ongoing
agitation in the Associate Banks of State Bank of India. We, therefore,
request all our Constituent Unions to extend solidarity.
With
revolutionary greetings,
Comradely
Yours
M. V. MURALI
