AIBOC-ISSUE OF SECOND AND FOURTH SATURDAYS OFF

Message from AIBOC:
Dear Comrades,

ISSUE OF SECOND AND FOURTH SATURDAYS OFF

A lot of queries are being received by us on implementation of second and fourth Saturdays off in

Banking Industry. We understand the anxiety as the issue which is very important, the most cherished and agreed demand of AIBOC, is being delayed in its implementation.

A few individuals from other organisations who were never serious about the demand or were even
creating hurdles in its achievement, are now shedding crocodiles tears. These paper tigers are
provoking common members by giving false information.

Let us advise you that in-principle approval of Govt. and RBI is already in place on the settlement
signed with IBA and more specifically on second and fourth Saturdays off. We are in continuous touch with DFS & IBA officials and have been following the issue. The delay is on account of some
clarifications being sought by authorities which are replied by officials down the line and IBA.

As a responsible Organisation we are vigorously following up and pursuing the issue. However, we cannot make any irresponsible statement of starting any agitation etc. at the present stage. One upmanship is not our objective. We are committed to our members and are endeavouring that fruits of our undeterred efforts for achieving this objective is reaped by them positively.

We are sure that IBA, Govt. & RBI can not deviate from implementation of 2nd & 4th Saturday off. We intend to wait for another week or so and shall review the position before taking any stand on the issue including start of agitation with due information to other constituents of UFBU.

  1. Let us wait and watch. But deviations and anomalies of 10th BPS need attention with true spirit.

  2. what abt other pvt banks which will open on saturday and grab business of public sector banks.Banks & its empolyees are going to loose with this saturday holiday instead of saturday off unions would have demanded regulated working hours, increased casual leave and overtime payment and handsome increase in basic pay as bankers will have to do pending work on next working day and there will be rush when banks will open.It was foolishness and complete surrender of unions by demanding saturday off as IBA got the opportunity to give only 2% increase on basic pay in the name of saturday off.

  3. Dear Com,Kumar,
Now, AIBOC is coming out slowly as if they are concerned about employees. What they have done during the 90 days period. For monetary benefit they have to work out. For saturday Holydays what prevented them from following during the 90 days.- they have slept as these are only Holidays. These people better not to show their faces out. Corporate / politicians have brought the Banking Industry to the death bed. The Union leaders, by sacrificing the benefits of the employees, posing themselves as savior of Banks. In fact they are such a novice that they are unable to analyze and understand that by signing the settlement they are reducing the pension of previous BPS. We are nowhere near the VIth CPC. Next CPC is coming. They have ditched the employees; buried the retirees. Shameless fellows. Let Banking Pay Commission (BPC) be appointed in the lines of CPC. This is the only way out for honorable wage revision. Otherwise only Union leaders will be benefited from the levy received from IBA / Employees.

  4. It is better to privatise complete banking structure instead of half hearted one hand competition with private sector other hand mostly infrastructure involve in social & national banking to get appreciation from govt. All govt schemes faced by staff without any extra manpower and remuneration/ compensation. Even 2% extra wage revision announced for fulfillment commitment of govt JAN DHAN A/C but not given in settlement. When II & IV satureday off announced in X bipartite settlement, it must be effective immediately after 25/5/2015 Date of settlement.

  6. what about the SUNDAY BANKING IN SOME BRANCHES OF PSBs FROM 10 AM TO 2 PM ? SHOULD it be abolished or not ? basing on what sort of cost analysis this SUNDAY BANKING IN BRANCHES has been introduced and agreed by AIBOC OR AIBOA ? WILL the compensatory HOLIDAY PROVIDED TO THOSE WHO WORK ON SUNDAY ultimately effect the entire work load for full working hours from Monday to Saturday or not ? why should not a SUNDAY, the universal holiday be a holiday for BANKING IN BRANCHES OF PSBs ? we demand for abolition of SUNDAY BANKING IN BRANCHES even for limited hours as ALL FAMILY MEMBERS ARE GETTING HOLIDAY ON SUNDAY AND COMBINED SOCIAL COMMITMENTS ARE BEING MISSED BY MANY MANY OFFICERS ON EVERY SUNDAY. with regard to 2nd SATUDAY AND 4th SATURDAY holiday, AIBOC, AIBOA must give us the facts. on 15th August, our honourable PM made it very clear that this government uses all 150000 branches of PSBs for the development of Aadivasis, Dalits and Women. Much more progress should alos be given to all sections of the society. Financially backward families from all castes, communities must be given banking assistance by PSBs. But, what about the financial welfare of Bank Officers who are becoming part and parcel of governmental assistance through branches of PSBs. Should they be compromised with mere 2% of just 15% ? Should they deserve much more percentage of growth in their Pay and Allowances ? Why the OFFICERS are not given CLERICAL ASSISTANCE in PSBs ? Why it has not become mandatory ? AIBOC and AIBOA must clarify. UFBU must recognise that OFFICERS role paly, responsibilities are different and they deserve the best of better Pay Scales and Allowances than that of the Award Staff or Employees and allocation of same percentages must be changed from that of mere 2% of just 15%.
