There are three types of family members of the deceased employees.
1. Those who applied for ex-gratia and got.
2. Those who applied but not sanctioned.
3. Those who did not applied at all for ex-gratia
(With the hope of getting appointment one day or other) .
Those who come under category 2 and 3 may approach Union in which the deceased
was a member for redressal.

the scheme restored from 05.08.2014 (as per AIBEA Circular) :
This
Scheme as approved by the Government will be effective from 5-8-2014 i.e. it
would cover cases of deaths of employees and officers from and after
5-8-2014. There are anxious queries
about the past cases. We shall take up
the same is due course and developments, if any, would be informed thereafter.

Information
about Scheme of Ex-gratia in lieu
of appointment
applicable to those employees who died from July 2004 to 04.08.2014:

1. Board, at its meeting dated 10.08.2005, has
approved a revised scheme
based on IBA's model scheme formulated as per
Government guidelines for
payment of Ex-gratia
to the family of employees dying in harness/employees
prematurely retired on medical grounds, in lieu of appointment on
compassionate
grounds
2. In the unfortunate event of death of an employee,
the eligible dependants may
submit application for ex-gratia to the branch/office
where the deceased
employee worked last, within six months from the date of death of such
employee.
3. The ex-gratia relief under the scheme is not an
entitlement but will be granted at
the sole discretion of the Bank taking into
consideration the financial conditions
of the family and eligibility as per the scheme.
4. Ex-gratia may be granted to the family of the
employee in the manner and
subject to the ceilings specified below, if the
monthly income of the family from
all sources is less than 60% of the last drawn salary
(net of taxes) of the
employee.
5.The cadre-wise ceiling on Ex-gratia amount payable
will be as follows:
CATEGORY MAXIMUM AMOUNT
Officers Rs. 8 lacs
Clerical Staff Rs. 7 lacs
Substaff Rs. 6 lacs
6. While dealing with proposals for grant of ex-gratia
as above, in cases where
disciplinary action had been taken/was pending against
the employee dying in
harness or the deceased employee was involved in
financial irregularities,
embezzlement of funds, committing frauds, etc. Bank
will continue to abide by
the guidelines issued by the Government of India
requiring consideration and
decision in each case by the Board of the Bank.(i.e
will not be paid)
